KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
•You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
•You may be required to complete a one year Supervisory Probation Period.
DUTIES:
This Supervisory Security Specialist position is located in the Security Management Section within the Security Branch of the Security Services and Assessments Division, Office of Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service (OLE/FAMS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected, you will serve as the Section Chief of the Security Management Section responsible for managing and directing the daily operations of multi-functional security programs within the Section. Duties include but are not limited to:
•Managing a myriad of TSA’s security programs such as Information Security, Industrial Security, Foreign Visitor Vetting, Foreign Contact and Travel, and Operations Security. This includes providing research, policy or directive writing and training development for these programs.
•Preparing, analyzing, formulating, developing, reviewing, and implementing TSA internal security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure that both sensitive and classified information is afforded appropriate protection in accordance with Executive Orders and Federal laws and regulations.
•Coordinating with TSA offices, business stakeholders, and other government agencies regarding security policy development and interpretation for agency-wide programs which impact the safety and security of TSA personnel, facilities, and information.
•Serving as the System Owner for TSA Headquarters' Security Control Point and Classified Processing Center.
Supervisory duties include serving as a first line supervisor for the organization. This includes but is not limited to: assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; approving leave; coaching and developing employees; recommending corrective or disciplinary actions; assisting in budget planning and projecting short-term needs; managing projects within assigned resources; resolving routine problems that typically impact the objectives of the organizational unit; when required, coordinating with customers outside the immediate organization.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I Pay Band or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes: applying comprehensive knowledge of Information Security, Industrial Security, OR Operations Security programs related to security directives, laws, and regulations to identify and resolve highly complex problems or issues.
