Member Services Officer 2 in Lompoc, CA for CoastHills Credit Union

Title:  Member Services Officer 2
Location: 1320 N H St, Lompoc, CA 93436
You will assist CoastHills Credit Union to achieve its mission to make a difference in our neighbors’ lives!  You will accomplish that by providing outstanding service to both internal and external members.

Some of the responsibilities of the job are; Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) to ensure daily compliance with current regulations
Performs basic teller transactions, such as but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments as stated in the Office Procedures Manual (OPM)
Opens new membership and share accounts and closes all accounts
Explains, promotes and cross sells Credit Union services, products, programs and investment opportunities
Cross-sells Wealth Management services as well as e-statements account conversations.
Proactively responds to members’ inquiries and requests using product knowledge
Assists in completing forms and documents
Resolves errors, member problems and/or complaints in a timely manner
Accurately balances cash and coin and maintains appropriate cash level within limits
Promotes, quotes, and sells GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) MBI (Mechanical Breakdown Insurance) and Debt Cancellation (Life, Unemployment, Disability,) during the loan application and funding process to penetration levels set forth by CoastHills.
Assists in the training of new employees in the branch
Follows policies and procedures related to Bank Secrecy 

Some of the requirements of the job are;A minimum of 12 months of customer service and/or cash handling work experience
Within six (6) months of employment; Successful completion of core competencies certification, Knowledge of loan products, including features and benefits, Successful completion of Member Services Officer Level 2 certification.

Knowledge of English usage, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Ability to listen effectively
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as interest, dividends and percentages

Ability to work cooperatively and establish and maintain effective work relationships while performing duties
Ability to organize work efficiently in order to meet deadlines
Ability to perform duties accurately and timely, with frequent interruptions
Ability to promote and maintain a positive image of the Credit Union to members and employees

Under general supervision of the Collections Manager, an Overdraft Privilege Collections Officer is responsible for performing a wide variety of member Collections duties.

Job duties for Overdraft Privilege Collections Officer:
Researches and analyzes data on past due non-sufficient return items and negative share balances, and claims of fraudulent account activity
Contacts member through various methods, telephone, letter, and email to determine reason for delinquent shares
Negotiates and establishes repayment process with member or recommend extension of credit
Collect on post charged off negative shares
Uses skip tracing to locate either member or property
Evaluates payments being made on delinquent shares and determine how payment will be applied
Responds to members’ inquiries and requests; assist in completing forms and documents
Resolves member problems and/or complaints
Researches account loan transactions to resolve payment errors
Monitor overdraft accounts to protect CoastHills from increased losses
Focused on retaining and enhancing the member relationship
Recommend and process charged off negative shares
Tracking and complete reporting updates for negative shares
Communicate trend information to management team
Track notifications issued to our members
Ensure that negative share general ledger is balanced
Follows policies and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and

Customer Identification Program (CIP) to ensure daily compliance with current regulations
Requirements for Overdraft Privilege Collections Officer:
A high school diploma or its equivalent with 6 months to 1-year experience in the field or in a related area
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish), preferred but not required
Knowledge of English usage, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Ability to listen effectively
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, percentages, rates, ratio and yields
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
Ability to perform duties accurately and timely, with frequent interruptions
Ability to operate a variety of office equipment and machines
Ability to work Saturdays

Participates in a rotation including but not limited to Computer Operations, Checks and ATMs
Serves in on-call and weekend duty rotation

COMPUTER OPERATIONS for MIS Operator 1 CA
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Episys (core member data processing system), Image Center (core Check 21 system), CoWWW (core archival system),Voice Choice (audio response), and NetTeller (homebanking), Synergy and Episys interfaces with vendor software via Symconnect.
Transmits authorized data using secure transmissions to vendors
Operates and monitors the control console, associated peripheral and auxiliary equipment of a mainframe computer for the processing of data and the preparation of business reports, studies, and analyses
Loads peripheral equipment with required input and output materials such as tapes, cards, discs, and forms
Operates and maintains computer programs and software, including software enhancements
Verifies accuracy and quality and distributes reports
Following established procedures, determines equipment set-up, operation, rearranges program steps, and restarts or continues operations to correct system malfunction
Starts and monitors runs, making adjustments to correct operation problems or meet special conditions
Observes control panels and peripheral equipment for malfunctions and error messages displayed on control console to detect faulty output or machine stoppage
Provides diagnosis in error situations to determine equipment or point of program failure
Confers with technical personnel in the event an error requires a change of instructions or sequence of operations; planning, changing, and upgrading applications; timely repair of equipment
Notifies MIS Manager of errors or equipment stoppage, when appropriate
Clears equipment at end of operating run and reviews schedule to determine next task
Makes repairs to or arranges for repair of terminals, printers and other computer equipment
Schedules maintenance and maintains operation records such as machine performance and production records
Schedules workflow to meet predetermined requirements
Researches and prepares new programs to run at Credit Union management’s request
Responds to the needs and questions of computer users concerning their access and use of the computer system
Performs INTERMEDIATE assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements
Prepares application software procedures and documentation for use, operations, backup and recovery

CHECKS for  MIS Operator 1 CA
Initiates all software and hardware for check balancing at the beginning of the day.
Handles reject repair associated with deposit work (checks) scanned throughout the day.
Prepares scan totals and communicates to branch managers throughout the day.
Balances deposit work batches (checks) throughout the day and notifies branch personnel with regard to rescan or balancing issues.
Balances branch deposit work at end of day comparing Image Center and Symitar totals.
Send files to the Fed for Fed Forward via Tumbleweed software
Prepares deposit work batches for storage in vault and completes all logs in dual custody
Destroys deposit work batches as necessary based on storage dates and logs in dual custody
Follows policies and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) to ensure daily compliance with current regulations

ATMS for MIS Operator 1 CA
Settles offsite ATMs and prepares all ATMs for balancing by running necessary reports within Symitar.
Initiates all software and hardware for ATM balancing at the beginning of the day.
Prepares cash withdrawal totals, verifies unidentified outages and posts necessary entries in Symitar.
Prepares ATM work by reviewing all envelope contents and reviewing content including preparation of cash slips
Processes all ATM work on track for import into Image Center
Reject repairs and balances all ATM work in Image Center
Prints reports and prepares end of day balancing for ATM work
