BCDS is actively recruiting former USMC NCO’s (E8 and above) with combat arms skills background. Position responsibilities include: Systems Approach to Training (SAT) User’s Guide. Provide technical input in development and updates of curriculum, Program of Instruction (POI) and training materials for the courses of instruction. Provide expertise in the design of training material using existing Marine Corps Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) as well as information derived from current operations. Design course schedules and plans. Collect, route, and file instructor rating forms. Integrate information from in- theater after action reports into current curriculum. Assist in developing Mission Essential Task Lists (METLs) and mission statements for combat security cooperation teams. Work with external agencies in order to ensure that training curriculum accomplishes stated goals. Serve as a secondary instructor, when required, in COIN and advisor operations. Review appropriate doctrinal publications, published Marine Corps task lists and Marine Corps Combat Readiness orders to develop and evolve unit level training objectives and plans. Provide input to Course Content Review Boards (CCRB) as required. Provide property management to include update and maintain the Contractor’s listing/database of Government furnished property/equipment to assure the accuracy and status of all GFE under contract and compare and identify conflicts with the Government GFP/GFE listings. (See CDRL B002, Status of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Report). Serve as Range Safety Officer (RSO) and/or Range Officer in Charge (OIC) when authorized and approved by the installation commander.Civilian Education: REQUIRED: High School diploma. DESIRED: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Conversational knowledge of Dari and Pashtu.
Military Education: REQUIRED: Certification as Marine Corps Range Safety Officers (RSO).
DESIRED: Professional Military Education in accordance with service requirements for candidate’s rank. Graduate of Military Instructional Management School Instructor’s Course and Curriculum Development Course or similar experience or experience in Instructor billet. Professional certification as an instructor and curriculum developer. Train the Trainer School (T3S) within last four years from date of hire a plus. 42
Military/Government Experience: REQUIRED: Military experience E-8 or above with combat arms skills background.
DESIRED: Combat arms Commissioned Officer with minimum of 15 years experience, including as an advisor to host nation security forces. Combat experience in either Operation Iraqi or Enduring Freedom within the last four years as of date of hire. Minimum of two (2) years experience in training development and management with an understanding of USMC training documentation requirements and familiar with the Marine Corps Lessons Learned program and process.
Clearance: REQUIRED: Secret Clearance. This position shall require access to Secret material and systems.
