International Development Solutions – Operations Security Specialist


Operations Security Specialist - Afghanistan
This position / labor category is staffed in accordance with the requirements described below.

1. Perform duties within the Tactical Operations Center (TOC).
2. The OSS is designated as support (S).
3. The OSS is required to attend the non-PSS WPS training course, as outlined in this contract.
4. Monitor incident and threat reporting and appropriately call for deployment of the appropriate response teams (Quick Reaction Force, Emergency Response Team, Explosive Ordinance Disposal, etc.).
5. Operate communications equipment – monitor and relay radio traffic, effectively controlling the network.  Communicate with entities outside of the network with a variety of voice- and text-based communications technology including local cell phone, regional and global satellite phone, tactical military radio, and UHF/VHF radio.
6. Prepare weekly and/or daily reports as requested by supervisory chain-of-command.
7. Maintain a watch record of activities.

Must meet all of the below qualifications:

1. U.S. Citizen/TCN/LN, as specified in the Task Order.
2. Level 3 English proficiency.
3. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in any of the following:
4. Tactical Operations Center
5. Intelligence Analysis
6. Watch Center
7. Command Post Shift Work
8. Or must have (1) served as a WPPS or WPPS II PSS within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) for 1 year or (2) have documented skill sets that warrant selection to this position / labor category based on the Task Order requirements.
