Preventive Medicine Coordinator for Afghanistan

The Preventative Medicine Coordinator will: coordinate and maintain all Client DFAC staff and Subcontracted Client DFAC staff Medical records (both electronic and hard copy) and provide administrative oversight and support to include; DFAC Employee Physicals, Immunization Schedules and FFD / NFFD status updates.

This position will involve: a multitude of functions involving interaction with OHS Senior Management and the Client; ensuring that each staff member and location is updated, current and supported the same within the Client AOR , creating consistency between each location; gathering data to assist in future expansion; reporting all information to the Client and Senior Management to ensure that proper data is timely and available; providing additional medical support while at FOBs; assisting in training to maintain FFD standards of care within the Client AOR and the OHS Company; continuing to maintain a proper and professional attitude and appearance at all times.

This position will play a major role in the Company’s effort to deliver a comprehensive team of health care professionals, providing quality standardized DFAC Preventative Medicine and Medical Surveillance within the Client/ Onsite OHS AOR. Additionally, the position will: assist with improving the relations between the client and medical staff by being the initial liaison; ensure that the medics are performing safe and qualitative Preventative Medicine and Medical Surveillance within the Onsite OHS AOR; provide education regarding DFAC Physical compliance, Immunizations, etc., and relative educational material. The PMM will be the first step in the OHS Leadership Chain of Command. The PMC will be responsible for all situations starting at each HUB and assisting other regional Medics with issues that arise within other branches related to preventative medicine. Responsibilities will also include: assisting other medical professionals with providing quality standardized medical surveillance and maintaining patient safety, care and confidentiality.

This position will function as the initial liaison between specialists, primary care providers, and other health care professionals in matters regarding preventative medicine. On a regular and continuous basis, the PMC will exercise administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences and results which have an impact on people, costs and/or quality of service within the functional area. In addition, the PMC will coordinate response to emergencies and serve as a resource in a team environment. This position will also assist with providing training and/or competencies for staff, and perform other duties as assigned.

Duties:
• Report directly to Deputy Project Manager Administration or Project Manager
• Create and Maintain the Regional FFDR
• Monitor Regional personnel movements to reduce the amount of errors on the FFDR
• Deliver public health presentations and training to various levels of employees
• Use surveillance tools, such as screening, lab reports, and vital records, to identify health risks
• Implement interventions to address behavioral causes of diseases
• Apply prevention programs in specialty areas such as occupational, infectious disease, and environmental medicine
• Report on the effectiveness of prescribed risk reduction measures and/or other interventions
• Identify groups at risk for specific preventable diseases or injuries
• Perform epidemiological investigations of acute and chronic diseases
• Prepare preventive health reports including problem descriptions, analyses, alternative solutions, and recommendations
• Provide information about potential health hazards and possible interventions to the DI employees
• Conduct monthly audits on Sub-Contractor DFAC’s and other facilities
• Monitor the Regional Regulated Medical Waste Program
• Analyze and interpret the meaning of information/regulation for the Region
• Provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on preventive medicine topics
• Create and utilize numerous documents in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other windows based software systems
• Effectively utilize Outlook and VOIP to communicate to various levels of management and other employees
• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:
• Supply Management, Communication, Delegation, Process Management, Supervision, Standards Development, Process Improvement Promotion, Inventory Control, Reporting Skills, Inspections, Record Review and Investigative Technique
• MS Office Proficient
• MS Excel Skilled
• Adobe Pro Proficient

Requirements:
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification preferred
