About The Job IDS International is seeking French-speaking candidates to fill an immediate requirement for trainers in support of the African-led International Support Mission to Mali (AFISMA). Deployments will be to several different Francophone countries in West Africa. Requirements: • Must have experience in mechanized operations (11 series/0311) • Must be able to train troops on mechanized operations, maneuvers, and tactics • Must have an understanding of C-IED operations and ability to train on it. • Must have reached rank of E-5 or above or equivalent. • Proficiency in French must equal or exceed 2/2 fluency based on the Defense Language Proficiency Test. Duties: • Plan, design and conduct pre-deployment peace support operations mechanized operations training for one (1) host nation armored personnel company over ten (10) training days. The NA armored personnel company will consist of approximately sixty (60) officers and soldiers and may be equipped with wheeled armored personnel carriers (APC). • Conduct live firing of the APC weapons for the purpose of orientation, safety, accuracy and fire discipline. • Provide training for APC fire support and unit logistics in support of the battalion in AFISMA. • Provide training on vehicle operation and preventive maintenance. • Provide training on combined arms and mechanized tactics in support of NA convoy and infantry operations in AFISMA. • Provide training on firing APC mounted weapons (day & night). • Provide training on firing individual weapons from moving APC (day & night). • Ensure emphasis is placed on mounting and dismounting safety procedures as well as the safe operations of the vehicles while in urban environment.
