Intelligence Staff Trainers

IDS International is searching for French-speaking candidates to fill an immediate requirement for trainers in support of the African-led International Support Mission to Mali (AFISMA). Deployments will be to several different Francophone countries in West Africa.

Duties and Description:
Intelligence Staff Trainers will deploy to Francophone West Africa to prepare host country soldiers for their deployment to Mali.
Develop and conduct training programs of instruction in support of non-lethal, soft-power skill-building of African troops, including tactical-level intelligence and Human Terrain Mapping.
Assist with the determination of training needs, most effective instructional methods and teaching aids; facilitate training courses and ensure comprehension and retention.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
Candidates must be well versed in tactical intelligence operations and human mapping. Both military and civilian backgrounds are accepted. The candidates must have experience in tactical Intelligence and be willing to work OCONUS in complex and austere environments.
Former military intelligence officer or senior NCO (03-05 or E7-E9) or civilian equivalent
Capable of training Battalion level tactical-level intelligence to West African Militaries in the French language
US citizenship or legal authorization to work in US
Submit to a background check and be Lautenberg cleared
Possess a passport that will be 6 months from expiration from end date of deployment
No chronic medical condition; physical ability to deploy and work in austere environments in West Africa

Desired Knowledge and Experienced:
Knowledge of UN Information requirements
Knowledge of PKO (peacekeeping operations) information requirements
Training or operational experience in any AFISMA countries

Language Requirement: French (Level 2 proficiency required).
Availability: Available to deploy as early as March 18, 2013.
