KEY REQUIREMENTS:
You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
You must complete a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
You must pass Drug and Alcohol Screening, subject to random drug tests.
This is an Emergency Essential position.
DUTIES:
This Intelligence Operations Specialist position is located in the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA), Field Intelligence Branch, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will provide intelligence support and threat briefings to the TSA Federal Security Directors, their staffs, and security workforce in your area of responsibility. You will also liaison with the Joint Terrorism Task Force's (JTTFs) and state, local, and tribal law enforcement officials, and intelligence fusion centers. Typical assignments will include:
Serving as a technical advisor on intelligence procedures, methodology, techniques, and strategies.
Contributing to the development of high level briefs by applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of real or potential security threats to or problems for program operations.
Contributing to the preparation of detailed and complex studies; anticipating and solving problems; and collecting, organizing, and interrelating large amounts of diversely formatted data drawn from a wide variety of sources.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for the SV-I Pay Band (equivalent to GS-13), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-H Band or GS-12 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes: advanced technical knowledge of intelligence concepts, guides, and methodologies to identify problems and perform analyses of transportation security threats; and experience critically evaluating sources of information, establishing validity of facts, and communicating in emergency situations.
