KEY REQUIREMENTS:
You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
You must complete a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
Providing assessments on the impact of AFRICOM plans on the civilian transportation network, how that network affects civilian U.S. interests, and how that network might assist AFRICOM's efforts in Africa.
Providing expert advice and guidance to identify and leverage resources within the USG transportation community, to answer questions and concerns related to AFRICOM plans and operations, and to coordinate with AFRICOM leadership in developing and formulating substantive policy recommendations.
Providing subject matter expertise to planning teams, special projects, or studies of considerable scope and depth that monitor or analyze civilian transportation security conditions, issues, and problems critical to the Command's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I Pay Band or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.  Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled.  Such experience includes:
applying comprehensive knowledge of international transportation security requirements, standards, and regulatory requirements;
experience collaborating and maintaining relationships with high level foreign government officials, negotiating sensitive or diplomatic issues to address long-term or wide reaching transportation security requirements; and demonstrated ability to adapt to foreign cultures and environments and establish and maintain alliances in these environments.
