KEY REQUIREMENTS:
You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI).
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
You may be required to travel overnight occasionally.

DUTIES:
This Program Assistant position is located in the Law Enforcement Officer Reimbursement Program, Assessments and Support Programs Branch, Security Services and Assessments Division Office of Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service (OLE/FAMS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
Providing program monitoring and analysis support.
Assisting with the review of Requests for Reimbursement for overall compliance with the policies, procedures and program requirements of the Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) Reimbursement Program.
Applying policies, rules and regulations and assisting in evaluating operating program characteristics to prepare reports and to identify and recommend procedural improvements.
Creating and editing program materials, including presentations, informational brochures and mailings.
Maintaining, updating and archiving program records, databases and files in accordance with applicable record retention policies.
Delivering high-quality customer service that meets the needs of both internal and external customers.
The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, at the lower Pay Band (SV-E), you will perform the same duties but will receive more guidance and training; and/or projects/work assignments may be less complex.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify at the SV-E Pay Band (equivalent to GS-7/8), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-D Pay Band or GS-6 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes assisting with providing analysis support; preparing reports; correspondence and program materials; maintaining program records; and providing basic information to staff and superiors.
To qualify at the SV-F Pay Band (equivalent to GS-9/10), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-E Pay Band or GS-8 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes monitoring and providing analysis support; identifying and recognizing procedural improvements; preparing reports, correspondence and program materials; maintaining and updating program records, databases and files; monitoring metrics and obtaining and supplying readily available information to staff and superiors.
