Sims Metal Management – Diesel Mechanic, PA

We are seeking two diesel mechanics for our plant in Morrisville, PA.

Summary:
Repairs diesel powered heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts etc. Principal Duties: •Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble •Dismantles devices to remove and repair or replace defective parts •Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections •Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements •Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments •Repairs or replaces defective parts •Installs special functional and structural parts in devices •Lubricates and cleans parts •Starts devices to test their performance •Initiates purchase order for parts and machines •Repairs electrical equipment •Ensure paperwork and required reports are created, reviewed and submitted on time.

Experience:
The ideal candidates would have 2 to 10 years’ experience working on diesel powered equipment.
