Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

On Sunday, April 22, 2012, Operation Confidence will host the Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting ceremony for  Handi Crafts Woodworking, Retouching and Refinishing Boutique for Wounded and Disabled Veterans. The event will take place at 1027 1/2 S. Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles, CA. 90019, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. .....

Honored guest speakers are as follows: Representatives from Congresswoman Janice Hahn's office, Councilman Bernard Parks, Councilwoman Jan Perry, Pastor Frank Orzio, Founder, Wounded Warrior Ministry & Chaplain California Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chaplain Richard Ysais, Military Order of Purple Heart Chapter # 83,  Chaplain Dov Cohen, Rev. Steve Sterry, Chaplain Milton Herring, Veterans Administration, Lt. Col. Patricia Jackson-Kelley, American Legion Jackie Robinson Post 252, and Captain Judith Rockey, Salvation Army, just to name a few.

Operation Confidence Handi-Crafts Boutique is in the heart of the Fairfax district and known for its vintage stores. To date, its small staff of veterans are skilled craftsmen in the art of wood designs. Given the opportunity they create and work in a therapeutic, art filled environment on small pieces of custom furniture and/or retouching and refinishing furniture for sale.  In addition, Handi-Crafts will donate furniture to needy disabled veterans and their families.
Consuella Mackey, Founder and Executive Director of Operation Confidence, a nonprofit organization and civilian  felt the need to  do more to help this population of people society seems to have forgotten.

Operation Confidence is a grass roots nonprofit organization that has been in the community advocating for individuals with disabilities for over 25 years www.operationconfidence.org.

Operation Confidence is proud to have the support of The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 83, New Directions, Inc. P.O.W. Association, The American Legion, AMVETS, Vietnam Veterans of America, Disabled American Veterans, Jewish War Veterans, Vet to Vet, Korean War Veterans, the Salvation Army and many others to support its efforts.
