Job Description:
At AppDynamics, our goal is to make it simple to manage modern, distributed, and extremely complex applications residing in both the cloud and the data center. Our customers run some of the largest web sites on the planet, and use our products to monitor and troubleshoot applications distributed across thousands of servers. To handle the massive data produced by these applications, we are building a highly scalable data system capable of collecting, processing, storing, querying, and analyzing vast amounts of time series and semi-structured data in real time. Job Responsibilities:
In this role you will be responsible for leading the development of the AppDynamics data platform. You will provide architectural oversight as well as hands-on development leadership. You will ensure that the data platform is massively scalable for both write-heavy and read-heavy workloads, while meeting key real-time goals. You will work with our operations team to ensure that the platform performs well in practice. You will also collaborate closely with other technical teams to deliver products that leverage the data platform.

Job Qualifications:
Expert at designing and building large-scale real-time distributed data processing and analysis systems
Substantial hands-on experience with big data frameworks and data stores such as Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra, HBase, HDFS
Demonstrated experience productizing complex data systems (including tuning, administration, security, deployment, and transition to operations)
Expert knowledge of Java, C++, multi-threaded development
Rock solid engineering skills
Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure (e.g. EC2, S3, ELB, EMR) and their use in practice
Experience with analytical tools such as Mahout is a plus
