We are seeking a performance engineer to fine tune our server platform. If you love knowing how things work under the hood, if you have a passion for performance and scalable web application platforms, and you love to pinpoint the problem areas in the code, we are interested in talking to you.
Our goal at AppDynamics is to make it simple to manage modern, distributed, and extremely complex applications residing in both the cloud and the data center. Our customers include some of the largest web sites on the planet, who use our products to monitor and troubleshoot applications distributed across thousands of servers, each of which is running our Agents.
As a performance engineer for server platform, you will be responsible for server platform performance test strategy, planning and execution. Also you will be writing simulators to meet real-time workload scenarios.

Job Responsibilities:
Partner with server platform development and operations teams to improve performance across all layers of server platform.
Write custom load generation tools and measure server performance using our own APM products.
Manage server platform’s performance lab and make sure that performance tests are executed for all features.
Analyze performance metrics and suggest recommendations to engineering team.

Job Qualifications:
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
6+ years of experience in distributed web applications performance turning.
Significant experience in JVM tuning.
Significant experience in SQL performance tuning.
Passion to identify system bottlenecks and limitations in distributed web applications.
Working knowledge of NoSQL databases.
Working knowledge of virtualization technologies like Amazon EC2, Vmware.
Working knowledge of java and shell scripting.
Should be able to perform well under tight delivery schedules.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
