Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Location: Various U.S.
Progressive, employee-friendly OHS is seeking certified Emergency Medical Technicians to provide medical support services at Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Responder Support Camps (NRSC) in the event of a natural or manmade disaster within the United States. Our mission is to support the first responders for FEMA NRSC locations in their selfless effort to meet emergency and medical needs and provide a bridge of assistance until individuals and families can resume a normal life.

In this position you will be required to perform a full range of professional basic life support (BLS) medical and clinical concepts and practices on site, using furnished facilities, equipment and supplies to a variety of patients. All aspects of EMT job performances include, but are not limited to the items listed below.

Responsibilities:
Deliver BLS treatment to all patients presented for care within the personnel and equipment capabilities
Administer treatment and medications inside scope of practice
Inventory medicine and drug stocks to ensure adequate supplies and controls
Provide immediate evaluation and management of problems as they occur
Work collaboratively with healthcare team to provide the best possible care
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Current EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license / certification, or National Registry
FEMS National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) training/coursework
Current BLS/CRP/AED by the AHA, or ARC Certification
Ability to deploy and arrive at the disaster site NRSC location within 36 hours of notification
Ability to work well under pressure, using limited resources, in an austere environment, for long periods of time, and be assigned to the NRSC location for 30-days or more.
Physically capable of performing all BLS EMT services with reasonable accommodation
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and work long hours
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Experience in disaster relief or an austere environment is preferred, but not required
