Subject Matter Expert
Location – CONUS & OCONUS
Competencies
The required competencies of the Subject Matter Expert include, but are not limited to:
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to create, to maintain, and prepare records and reports
Able to perform tasks with minimal oversight
Ability to problem solve and work with minimal supervision
Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
Qualifications and Experience
The Subject Matter Expert should possess the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field or relevant military or law enforcement experience
International experience preferred in logistics, operations, and training management
Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a civilian or Military Working Dog (MWD) handler to include a minimum of two years experience handling/training an off-leash K-9.
Graduate of the Department of Defense MWD School at Lackland AFB, Texas and DoD MWD Kennel Master Course.
Must be certified by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) to handle/store explosives as identified in Army Regulation (AR) 190-12 and possess a functional understanding of applicable safety regulations for the use, transport, and storage of explosive training aids.
Intermediate user level of computer systems; Microsoft office software (word, power point, excel, projects, outlook) and database systems; and
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Other Requirements
The Subject Matter Expert, in addition to the above listed requirements, shall:
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak the English language
Must be able to prepare detailed comprehensive reports
Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
