KEY REQUIREMENTS:
You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S National.
You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI).
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
You must pass Drug and Alcohol Screening, subject to random drug tests.
Travel away from duty station is required.

DUTIES:
If selected for this position, you will serve as a Human Resources Specialist for the Office of Employee Relations within the Office of Human Capital (OHC), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). You will serve as a technical expert providing advice and assistance to employees and managers on employee relations matters such as conduct, performance and discipline, tours-of-duty, hours-of-work, leave administration, grievances, and appeals. You will also serve as a primary point of contact on employee relations policies and procedures for OHC. Duties include but are not limited to:
Identifying and solving unique and extremely difficult employee relations problems.
Briefing management on recommendations and program objectives and strategies.
Leading large projects/program teams on employee relations issues.
Providing advice and guidance on the full range of employee relations matters to include complex and sensitive issues.
Drafting disciplinary letters for corrective and disciplinary actions.
Developing training modules and conducting training in support of employee relations principles, policies, and procedures.

The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, the lower Pay Band (Pay Band I) performs the same duties but will receive more guidance and training; and projects or work assignments may be less complex.
