We
are asking your help to spread the news that Ojai Post 482 is
sponsoring an all day event for Veterans. This is the first time we are
launching this program and ask for your help in contacting your veteran
members throughout the Valley to invite them to come and share. If you
are a member of an American Legion post, or VFW or Elks where there are
Veterans who come ...please let them know!
Here
is some of the information disseminated to the newspapers and perhaps
you can forward this information to anyone/everyone you know who might
want to be included or have their veterans included. We welcome all
branches of the military, retired or active duty.
American
Legion Auxiliary Unit 482 of Ojai is proud to announce its upcoming
plans for honoring our local servicemen and women on Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015. This is our first year launching this event, which we hope will become an annual tribute!
The Post will be open from 7:00 a.m. (free breakfast to Veterans) until 5:00 p.m.
to host Veterans and their families throughout the day. Members of
American Legion and VFW Posts throughout Ventura County have been
invited to come and share their memories and “treasures” with other Vets
for the day, and there will be soups and desserts available for
luncheon and snacks.
Nancy
Hill, local supporter of Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day, as well as
many other services for Veterans, will display posters of Veterans both
alive and deceased, and it is anticipated that many servicemen and women
will be bringing scrap books, old uniforms, medals, and other items to
share.
Ojai
is known for its caring attitude to Veterans and all veterans and their
families are invited to come and share in this special day. There is
no cost to the Veterans and both young and old are invited to come and
share in this special day.
