KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must possess U.S. Citizenship.
•You must complete a favorable Single Scoop Background Investigation (SSBI).
•You must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.
•You must pass Drug and Alcohol Screening, subject to random drug tests.           
DUTIES:
As the Director, Mission Support in the Office of Security Operations (OSO), you will advise and recommend to the Assistant Administrator and Deputy Administrator for OSO, policies, procedures and programs to maximize the effectiveness of the OSO operations. You will exercise supervision through subordinate managers of the Business Management Office, Procurement Management, Staffing and Scheduling, and National Deployment. You will establish policies and procedures on business operations and operational management. You will identify and prioritize issues and challenges within OSO that will have TSA-wide impact, while providing leadership and support to Branch Managers and Program/Project Managers in program/project initiation, planning and execution. You will monitor the development of OSO's strategic plans and their performance goals and metrics. You will contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance the OSO's accomplishment of goals and initiatives which reflect best practices in the areas of Governance, strategic and business planning, marketing, development of performance indicators, and program performance management. You will chair task force groups and work collaboratively with representatives internally and externally to OSO and ensure interests of OSO are understood and represented. You will partner with other Directors, their staffs, and employees to identify business needs and deliver on stated needs. You will ensure regular and consistent communication of OSO goals and priorities to all internal staff and external customers. You will facilitate and coordinate cross-organizational projects in alignment with OSO mission and goals. You will develop cooperative and effective relationships to attain harmony, high morale, and a spirit of cooperation among staff and TSA Program Offices and airports.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
To qualify for this position, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the level of the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required for successful performance. You would typically gain this experience by working within this field or a field of work that is closely related. Such experience includes performing a variety of senior advisory and managerial duties essential to the effective accomplishment of a program's mission.  This includes leading, administering, managing within established staff level an budgets, providing leadership to a diverse workforce, and coordinating the understanding of and compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and legislation (such as the Aviation and Transportation Security Act).
As a basic requirement, applicants must demonstrate progressively responsible leadership experience that is indicative of senior executive level managerial capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined in the "How You Will Be Evaluated" section of the Job Opportunity Announcement. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the equivalent of the GS-15 grade level in the Federal service or its equivalent with state and local government, the private sector, or non-governmental organizations. Failure to meet this basic qualification requirement and all executive and technical qualification factors automatically disqualifies an applicant.
