DUTIES:
In this position you would be a Student Trainee serving as an intern under the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). TSA is looking for an intern with an interest in workforce engagement and wellness advocacy. Ideally, you would have knowledge and an understanding of the digital media landscape, including websites and APPs, communications/writing skills, and program/project analysis to work in a variety of experiences in support of TSA’s Work/Life & Wellness program advocacy. Your hands-on opportunity will allow you to be involved with a variety of projects and interface with numerous departments. Some tasks may include:
•Typing reports, maintaining files, arranging meetings and travel.
•Utilizing computer software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint).
•Assisting in the redesign and development of the dept website/App for use by TSA field employees.
•Other assignments that support the day-to-day operations of the office.
The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, at the lower pay band (C Band) you will perform the same duties but will receive more guidance and training; and/or projects/work assignments may be less complex.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this position, your resume must reflect the necessary requirements stated below. In addition, if you have work or volunteer experience to list on your resume, please be sure to include the dates and amount of time per week you performed the work or volunteer service. To be eligible for this position you must be:
•Pursuing a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), a vocational/technical certificate, an associate degree, a baccalaureate degree, a graduate degree, or a professional degree in an accredited institution or accredited home school;
•Enrolled in at least a half-time course load as defined by your institution. (A student who needs to complete less than the equivalent of half an academic/vocational/technical course load in the enrollment period immediately prior to graduating is still considered a student for purposes of this program.); and
•Maintaining a 2.0 Grade Point Average on a scholastic average scale of 4.0.
