Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) - Harrisonburg, VA
Progressive, employee-friendly OHS is seeking a part time, qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist to provide medical services to designated beneficiaries in a clinical setting in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Perform a full range of Medical Laboratory Technologist professional concepts and practices on site, using furnished facilities, equipment and supplies to a variety of patients. All aspects of Medical Technologist service shall commensurate with the capabilities of the provider and the Medical Department including but not limited to the items listed below.

Job Duties:
Perform laboratory testing and evaluation including interpretation of tests in the areas of:
Hematology
Urinalysis
Chemistry
Serology
CLIA-Waived Testing
Perform evaluation and interpretation of tests in the areas of:
Bacteriology
Chemistry
Special Chemistry
Blood Bank
Serology
Hematology
Immunology

Ensure the establishment and maintenance of acceptable levels of analytical performance for each test system including quality control and quality assurance
Fulfill the duties as assigned by the laboratory technical consultant for a moderately-complex laboratory as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLlA)
Prepare, manage and submit appropriate documentation for all testing as related by CLlA
Implement policies and procedures for monitoring individuals who conduct pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical phases of testing to assure that they are competent and maintain their competency to process specimens, perform test procedures and report test results promptly and proficiently, and whenever necessary, identify needs for remedial training or continuing education to improve skills.
Order Medical Laboratory supplies
Restock and maintain Medical Laboratory supplies
Inventory Medical Laboratory supplies to ensure adequate supplies and controls, including usage and expiration dates
Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur
Prepare and submit appropriate documentation as specified in applicable regulations
Liaison and report to higher facility as required for patient’s continuum of care
Work collaboratively with healthcare team in primary Care
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Diploma from an accredited school of Medical Laboratory Technology
Current certification as a MLT with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years recent clinical experience in providing MLT services
Current BLS by the AHA, ARC, ASHI or ACEP Certification
No loss, reduction, restriction, or revocation of clinical privileges at any institution
No pending litigation for medical malpractice
No current or pending felony criminal charges
Physically capable of performing independently all Medical Laboratory Technologist services with reasonable accommodation
