Progressive, employee-friendly Onsite OHS is seeking a part time,
qualified Pathologist to provide medical services in Fort Worth,
Texas.
Perform a full range of Pathology services to a variety of patients on site,
using furnished facilities, equipment and supplies. All aspects of Pathology
services shall be commensurate with the capabilities of the provider and the
Medical Department including but not limited to the items listed
below.
Ensures testing systems in the laboratory provide quality services in
all aspects of test performance, i.e., the pre analytic, analytic, and post
analytic phases of testing and are appropriate for the patient
population.
Ensures that physical and environmental conditions of the
laboratory are adequate and appropriate for the testing performed.
Ensures
that the environment for employees is safe from physical, chemical, and
biological hazards and safety and biohazard requirements are
followed.
Ensures sufficient numbers of appropriately educated, experienced,
and/or trained personnel who provide appropriate consultation, properly
supervise, and accurately perform tests and report test results in accordance
with the written duties and responsibilities specified, are employed by the
laboratory.
Ensures new test procedures are reviewed, included in the
procedure manual and followed by personnel.
Ensures that test reports include
pertinent information for test interpretation of those results as they relate to
specific patient conditions.
Ensures appropriate test method selection and
adequate method verification in order to determine the accuracy and precision of
the test.
Ensures enrollment of the laboratory in a CMS-approved proficiency
testing (PT) program for the test performed and PT samples are tested in
accordance with the CLIA requirements.
Ensures PT results are returned within
the time frames established by the PT program and PT reports are reviewed by the
appropriate staff.
Ensures corrective action plans are followed when PT
results are found to be unacceptable or unsatisfactory.
Ensures quality
assessment and quality control programs are established and
maintained.
Ensures acceptable analytical test performance are established
and maintained for each test system.
Ensures remedial actions are taken and
documented when significant deviations from the laboratory's established
performance characteristics are identified and patient test results are reported
only when the system is functioning properly.
Ensures personnel have been
appropriately trained and demonstrate competency prior to testing patient
specimens.
Ensures policies and procedures are established for monitoring
personnel competency in all phases (pre analytic, analytic, and post analytic)
of testing to assure the ongoing competency of all individuals who perform
testing. Ensures remedial training or continuing education needs are identified
and training provided.
Reviews all quality control results at least
annually.
Reviews and maintains normal values of each analytical test
performed by the laboratory.
Identifies problems that may adversely affect
test performance and reports them to the laboratory
supervisor/manager/director.
Attends laboratory in services and meetings as
required.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize deficiencies within the work
area and corrects immediately.
Follows laboratory procedures as
indicated.
Readily shares knowledge and expertise.
Pursues training and
development opportunities to maximize job competence.
Requirements
Current, full, active and unrestricted
license to practice Pathology in the state of Texas.
Current BLS
certification.
Minimum of two (2) years recent experience in providing
Pathology services
Must not be medical director of more than 4
laboratories
Physically capable of performing all Pathology services with
reasonable accommodation
