Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I wanted to make sure you got the invitation for the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation 5th Annual Golf Tournament on 17 August at the Springfield Golf & Country Club.  If you are like me and thankful for our Service to our nation, you might want to attend to help our young shipmates who are not as fortunate.

When a Sailor or Coast Guardsman falls seriously ill or injured in combat, in training, or while in Service, few families are prepared to deal with the personal and financial disruption associated with leaving their home, their family, and their jobs.  In many cases, their injuries cause them to leave the Service which requires long periods of hospitalization, rehabilitation, and recuperation. In some cases our young shipmates don’t make it.  We created the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation to support recovering Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and their families by providing needed assistance not provided by the government. Things like support for the extended family, adaptive athletic programs and special assistance in recovery programs.  In conjunction with the US Navy & Coast Guard, the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation provides individually tailored assistance for our shipmates and their families most in need with over $1M provided since we started in 2009. Navy Safe Harbor Foundation wants to ensure that every service member entered into the Navy Safe Harbor Program is given an opportunity for full recovery.  All proceeds, 100%, of the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation 5th Annual Golf Tournament will go to the recovering Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and their families.
