2015 Northern Trust Open Schedule of Events – Military Initiatives

The following is an overview of Birdies for the Brave® military outreach activities that will be taking place during the 2015 Northern Trust Open at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA:

Tuesday, February 17:

Initiative:  Operation Shower/Birdies for the Brave Shower for Military Moms
Time: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: Grand Ballroom, The Riviera Country Club
Event Info:  The Northern Trust Open will host its 3rd annual Operation Shower/Birdies for the Bravegroup baby shower for 40 military moms-to-be whose spouses are deployed.   Actress/model Molly Sims will serve as the special guest host of the event, which will take place in the Grand Ballroom at The Riviera Country Club.  Operation Shower is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and honoring military families by providing joyful baby showers for military moms-to-be  to ease the stress of deployment, or in cases where spouses are seriously injured.  

Wednesday, February 18 – Sunday, February 22:

Initiative:  Complimentary Military Ticket Program supported by Quicken Loans
Time: ON SALE NOW (Tickets valid to hospitality tent Thursday through Sunday of tournament week)
Location: Northern Trust Open, The Riviera Country Club - Los Angeles, CA        
Event Info:  As part of its support for the Birdies for the Brave military outreach initiative, complimentary grounds admission tickets to the Northern Trust Open will be provided throughout the week to all active duty and Reserve military members, military retirees, non-retired veterans, and their dependents from Wednesday through Sunday of tournament week through support from Quicken Loans. For complimentary access, military guests must show a Department of Defense-issued ID at the gate, along with a military ticket voucher that can be downloaded at https://birdiesforthebrave.sheerid.com/NorthernTrust2015/.  

Initiative:  Birdies for the Brave Caddie Program
Time: There are two Official Northern Trust Open Pro-Am events. The morning outing begins at 6:40 am and the afternoon outing begins at 11:00 am
Location: 14th Hole, The Riviera Country Club
Event Info:  Military members will have the unique opportunity to caddie for one of the top 144 PGA TOUR players competing in the 2015 Northern Trust Open Pro-Am on the infamous 14th hole at The Riviera Country Club. PGA TOUR players will be randomly assigned to participating military members.

Thursday, February 19 through Sunday, February 22:

Initiative:  Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost
Time: 8:00 am – end of play
Location: 14th tee, The Riviera Country Club
Event Info:  From Thursday through Sunday, the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost military hospitality chalet will offer complimentary food and beverages and a relaxing venue for viewing all of the tournament action for all active duty and Reserve military members, military retirees, veterans, and their dependents.  
 
Saturday, February 21:

Initiative: Military Appreciation Day
Time: Saturday afternoon
Location: Green Room Stage, Driving Range, The Riviera Country Club
Event Info:  Saturday, February 21, has been designated as Military Appreciation Day at the Northern Trust Open.  As part of the celebration, the Northern Trust Open Military Appreciation Ceremony will take place in the afternoon at The Riviera Country Club, featuring military pageantry and the singing of the national anthem.  More highlights to come soon. Other activities scheduled for the day include the placement of the American flag on 14th green, which will be tended by uniformed military members, and the opportunity for military members to serve as announcers on the 14th tee.

Sunday, February 22:

Initiative: Military Pin Flag Attendants
Time: 7:30 amend of play
Location: 14th green, The Riviera Country Club
Event Info: Sunday, February 22, uniformed military members will tend the pin flag on the 14thgreen, which will be replaced by an American flag.
