What are the current K9 handler requirements for BESF?
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a K9 Handler in either a military or civilian law enforcement environment.
  • A minimum of 1 year focused solely on EDD (Explosive Detection).
  • Certification as a K9 Handler from an authorized authority, either military or civilian law enforcement.
  • Physically fit and able to meet the physical demands of the assignment in an austere environment.
  • Successful completion of Department of State Minimum Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or Secret Security Clearance process.
What is the BESF mission scope?
You will be access and egress checkpoints at Cap Sather, a component of the Baghdad Embassy complex. Your tasks will be EDD, or Explosives Detection related.
  • This is an armed position (GLOCK 17 or 19); you will be certified on the M4 as well.
  • Administrative: $Per Diem
  • Training Compensation: $150/day
  • Stand-By As Needed: $11.56/hr. + Per Diem
  • Leave Schedule: 10 Weeks on/3 weeks off; paid time off.
  • RONCO pays for all of your transportation costs to and from training, as well as transportation costs incurred on your rotations to and from your home of record.

-DD-214 and Emloyment substantiation from every employer listed on your BIO.
-Bio Form
-Signed Passport Copy (Color)
-Color copy of your driver’s license
-Signed Lautenberg form which we will send you
-Signed Letter of Intent which we will send you

*If you are unable or unwilling to provide all of the above documentation in a timely manner and by the deadlines we require, you can opt out now as we will move on to the next available handler who is willing to provide these documents.


What comes Next? What is the Schedule?

Your class will commence on November 10, 2011; this will be at an undisclosed location in Virginia; this will be to complete NPSS certification and for the initial phase of project orientation. As previously noted, RONCO will be responsible for and will arrange all travel. The duration of the class is one week; you will deploy to Baghdad immediately following this training.

Compensation:

You will be paid the standard rate per diem as set by the State Dept. for any administrative time leading up to your training commencement on November 22. While training you will be compensated $150 per day Once training is completed you will receive $11.56 per hour plus a per diem. Once you’ve certified and deploy your regular salary of $109,00 per annum will commence. RONCO pays on a 26 week payroll cycle, so you will be paid every other week.

Acceptable Forms of Employment Verification for BESF:
  • No W2’s, no employment badges...
Acceptable forms are:
  • Military = DD214 Member 4 Copy or Service 2 Copy
  • Police/Sheriff’s Departments = POST report, Record Brief, or letter from Dept. son official letterhead stating dates of employment (mm/dd/yy to mm/dd/yy) and the position(s) they held.
  • Federal Contractors = LOA’s or a letter from the contractor on official letterhead stating dates of employment (mm/dd/yy to mm/dd/yy) and the position(s) they held.
  • Private Sector = ONLY company employment verifications on official letterhead stating dates of employment (mm/dd/yy to mm/dd/yy) and the position(s) they held.

*Please be sure that this contract is a venture that you want to undertake as you will be responsible for costs for return to your home of record, plus any ancillary costs incurred by RONCO should you decide not to proceed once we’ve started training on 11/10/2011.
