From Deployment to Employment: Helping Veterans Recover and Discover a Working Life

The purpose of this Webinar will be to provide an overview of strategies and resources for States, Territories, and Tribes to consider as they work collaboratively to address the unemployment and underemployment of Service Members, Veterans, and their Families. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.
Key topics to be addressed include:
* Increase understanding of Veterans' employment issues within the current social and economic context.
* Discuss myths and facts about Veterans, injuries, PTSD, TBI, substance abuse, homelessness, and community reintegration.
* Identify action items for implementing employment practices impacting recruitment, assimilation, retention, accommodation, and advancement.
* Describe alternate paths to employment, including education, internships and work experiences.
* Integrate methods for skill identification and translation to civilian sector.
* Identify and adapt best practices for engaging and meeting the needs of employers and the business community for ensuring successful employment opportunities for Veterans.
Target Audience: Representatives from State, Territory, and Tribal behavioral health systems serving Service Members, Veterans, and their Families; Representatives from Military Family Coalitions and Advocates.
