Thank you for considering participation in the Fort Drum Soldier for Life – Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) Hiring Event on February 25, 2016 at The Commons, P4350 Euphrates River Valley Road, Fort Drum.  This event allows you to connect directly with transitioning service members that match the skills, interests, and desired locations of positions that you have available. Based on the matches, interviews will be scheduled in advance of the actual event and will run from 9:00-4:00.  The following information and guidelines are provided to assist you with planning for these events.

There is no fee for this event.  If representatives are not DoD ID card holders, security information (full name, date of birth) must be received no later than February 12, 2016.

POST ACCESS
Fort Drum has implemented heightened security procedures at the gates.  For those who do not have DoD/Federal ID Cards, please, provide full names and dates of birth for all occupants in the vehicle.  We will provide a roster of visitors to our security personnel so that participants will not have to stop and sign in at the visitor’s center.  This will expedite entering the installation the morning of the event.  Those on the security roster without DoD ID cards must use the Mount Belvedere Gate to access the installation.  Those without DoD ID and who have not provided required information, WILL NOT BE GRANTED ACCESS.  Provide security information to Mike Stout, michael.w.stout4.civ@mail.mil, (315) 772-3237.   
                

DIRECTIONS
NOTE:  Some roads will be closed during PT hours, 7:00-8:30.  A map will be provided with registration confirmation.  Travel may be slower – exercise caution when driving on post during these hours.  DO NOT trust GPS devices to navigate on the installation. 
  
Watertown (ART) has an airport, but you may find more scheduling options flying into Hancock Field,
Syracuse (SYR) which is approximately 72 miles south of Fort Drum.

From Syracuse Airport (Hancock Field)
DoD/Federal ID Card:  Travel I-81 North to Watertown. Exit right at Exit 48A, I-781, to Fort
Drum. This is a new connector that goes directly to the Paul Cerjan Gate. Proceed straight after the gate and turn right onto Euphrates River Valley Road.  Follow Euphrates until you see The Commons on the right.
Non-ID Card Holders:  Travel I-81 North to Watertown.  Exit right at Exit 48, and turn right onto Route 342.  Turn left at the THIRD light onto NYS Route 283/Mount Belvedere Blvd.   Proceed straight after the gate and turn right at the first light onto Po Valley Road.  Turn left into The Commons at the intersection of Po Valley and Euphrates River Valley Road.    

From the South via NYS Route 26
DoD/Federal ID Card:  After passing through Great Bend, turn left at the second light onto Oneida Avenue. After passing through the gate, proceed to Euphrates River Valley Road and turn right. Continue on Euphrates until you see The Commons on the left.
Non-ID Card Holders:   Take a left in Great Bend onto Route 3.  Follow Route 3 and take a right onto NYS Route 342.  Take a right at Route 283/Mount Belvedere Blvd.   Proceed straight after the gate and turn right at the first light onto Po Valley Road.  Turn left into The Commons at the intersection of Po Valley and Euphrates River Valley Road.   

Ensure you have vehicle registration and insurance (or rental agreement), and driver’s license/form of photo ID for each person in the vehicle. Rules regarding speed and cell phone usage while driving are strictly enforced.   Speed limit when passing troops in formation is 10 mph.  Again, if not a DoD ID card holder, visitors MUST be on the security roster (provided DOB on registration) at Mount Belvedere Gate.

LUNCH OPTIONS
After you check in with a SFL-TAP staff member, you will be directed to a station to order and pay for lunch.  For $10, you will have the option of a Cobb Salad or the 10th Mountain Sandwich, drink, chips, and dessert.  After you pay for your meal, you will be given a ticket based on your choice which you will use to pick up your lunch in a designated area. 

10th Mountain Sandwich: A large portion of ham, roast beef,
turkey, bacon, Swiss and American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and
Russian dressing on marble bread.

Cobb Salad: Grilled chicken breast accompanied by
tomato, hard-boiled egg, red onion, green pepper and crumbled
bacon layered over fresh greens with a choice of dressing.


GUIDELINES
~  You must arrive and have your table set up by 8:45 a.m.
~  Limited beverages will be provided.
~  Unfortunately, storage space is not available, so, please, have materials you require for the event shipped to your hotel or directly to The Commons, P4350 Euphrates River Valley Road, Fort Drum.
Coordinate a pick up for any materials left behind at The Commons.  Please, bring your own packing materials.
~  Limited electrical hookups are available. Please, bring your own extension cords.
~  Internet is now available on site.
