POSITION DESCRIPTION – Government Furnished Information (GFI) Management Support

Location:PMS397T1 OHIO Replacement Technical Organization, Washington Navy Yard, Washington D.C.

Overview For Seeking Mid Engineer – GFI Support:
PMS 397 oversees the design, construction, and delivery of the OHIO Replacement.  397T1 is NAVSEA’s ship integration technical authority for system design and systems engineering on OHIO Replacement.

Requirements For Seeking Mid Engineer – GFI Support:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.  [Two (2) years of job-related experience may be substituted for each year of college.]
2. Must possess organizational skills, technical management skills, and ability to perform detail-oriented work.
3. Self-motivated, possess analytical skills and be customer-oriented.
4. Effective communication, both verbal and written.
5. Familiarity with computer hardware and software; proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Purpose of Position/Major Duties For Seeking Mid Engineer – GFI Support:
The GFI Management Support reports to the GFI Manager and performs the following duties:
1.Provide GFI support for Common Missile Compartment (CMC) and Rest of Ship GFI activities including; executing to the approved Schedule C’s (United Kingdom (UK), Strategic Systems Programs(SSP), Hull Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E), and Non Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES)); technically and programmatically reviewing incoming GFI; and generating incoming/outgoing GFI letters and packages for official release.
2.Generate letters, transmittals and other required correspondence to establish and fulfill commitments with the Design Yard based on the approved OR Schedule C’s.
3.Generate letters, transmittals and other required correspondence to establish and manage GFI commitments that will involve interfacing with the GFI Supplying Activities and stakeholder Points of Contact (POCs).
4.Interface with System Interface Team Leads (SITs), SSP, and the UK to generate and route GFI letters and packages for official release; track and report status of GFI commitments.
5.Organize regular meetings with Design Yard and other stake holders to review metrics and status of GFI.
6.Assist in the review of minutes and action items from weekly GFI meetings with the Design Yard and GFI Supplying Activities.
7.Other duties as assigned.
