Upward Bound Advisor
FSC’s Upward Bound program is currently seeking an UB Advisor to oversee the administration of the Upward Bound West program. The home office location of this position is in Spooner, WI. The Upward Bound (UB) Advisor oversees the administration of the UB Program. They plan, implement, monitor and evaluate all UB services provide by program staff. Conduct the UB program is in compliance with TRIO regulations and legislation, EDGAR, OMB Circulars, Grant Application, Annual Performance Report and the approved UB proposal. They will conduct weekly visits with participants in each target high school. The UB Advisor is responsible for recruiting and selection of program participants including developing recruiting materials and giving informative presentations to potential participants, guardians, school staff and community organizations. Supervises the UB Instructors.
Education/Experience: The Upward Bound Advisor will be able to work independently, have knowledge to assess needs and barriers of youth being serviced and set goals to overcome them, counsel youth on the career opportunities involved with different education and training paths, provide academic intervention for participants in an effective and efficient manner. Must become certified in First Aid and CPR, and be an intermediate user of Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and preferably FileMaker Pro. Must be proficient using the Internet for research and must maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, high school teaching experience, and three (3) plus years work-related experience with supervisory responsibilities and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Wisconsin Teaching License is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits: Forward Service Corporation offers a competitive wage for this exempt position with a minimum salary of $41,452.
Compensation is based upon a combination of past experience work experience and education.
