Important information for participating in Wreaths Across America at Arlington

The annual Wreaths Across America event will be held at Arlington National Cemetery Saturday, December 14, 2013. This year the Opening Ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. at McClellan Gate, which is at the intersection of McClellan and Eisenhower Drives – near the main entrance of Arlington National Cemetery. At the ceremony, volunteers will receive a short briefing then move to the designated areas of the cemetery to participate in the laying of wreaths at headstones.

Participants are encouraged to use the Metro. No vehicle access will be allowed in the cemetery until 1 p.m. Families with permanent parking passes can park in the Visitor Garage free-of-charge until 1 p.m. Limited parking for buses is also available in the Visitor Garage. The Administration Parking Lot is designated parking for those with disabilities. No general parking is permitted in the Visitor Garage.

General parking is available at the Hayes, Fern, and Eads Streets lots in Pentagon City. We are anticipating general parking at the Pentagon’s North Parking Lot. Pedestrian access to Arlington National Cemetery is available from Memorial Ave and the Service Complex entrance off of Southgate Road.
