Job Summary 
The Division Safety Manager (DSM) will promote all aspects of safety in all areas of operations at facilities within their area of responsibility, including service center/dock, city pick-up and delivery (P&D), line haul, and garage/shop departments.  The DSM will also ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local safety laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Requirements 
Monitor compliance with the Hours of Service (HOS) regulations through audits.
Monitor Driver/Vehicle Examination Reports (Inspection Reports).
Monitor employees' compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures.
Conduct roadside inspections of company equipment passing through DOT weigh stations & checkpoints.
Maintain compliance of Hazardous Material Regulations.  Audit Hazardous Materials training records and report incidents. Assist with DOT Hazardous Material Shipper Checks.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Handle DOT complaints under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
Provide assistance with post-accident and post-injury investigations to ensure proper completion of required documentation and reporting to the proper agencies.
Review all investigation reports on accidents and injuries.
Monitor SAFETY/RISK ONLINE (SRO) reporting for accidents and injuries. Review employees' accident/injury histories and target issues identified as causal factors.
Create and implement an annual Safety Action to improve safety.    
Assist with all aspects of training and provide ongoing training as new initiatives are implemented.
