Folks, here's a video of the funeral for the WWII Medal of Honor Recipient Alexander Bonnyman who's remains have been returned.
Lt.
Bonnyman was a Marine engineer assigned to the Shore Party Unit when he
was killed 73 years ago, and his remains were discovered earlier this
year. He was a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his actions on
Tarawa. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at the age of 35, served as a
Private on Gradual Canal and received a battlefield commission in that
campaign. A real American hero and we are proud that he is an East
Tennessee Veteran. The ceremony was very moving and the marines
performed with perfection.
Alexander "Sandy" Bonnyman, Jr. (May 2, 1910 – November 22, 1943)
