Aerospace Engineer for Ivyland, PA

Job Description:
Designs and supervises the construction of unmanned aircraft and associated parts such as airframe, auxiliaries, communication equipment, controls, fuselage, and power plant. Performs modelling and analyzes results of stress on various aircraft parts and conducts research to determine flight characteristics. Applies Computational Fluid Dynamics in support of aircraft design and improvement modification programs, Develops methods & procedures for airplane external loads generation, & supports aircraft flight test programs.

Responsibilities include:
Employ Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to assess subsonic aerodynamic characteristics of modified aircraft
Develop aircraft structural loads using computational & analytical techniques
Use aerodynamics data to create analytical models of aircraft performance & handling/stability qualities
Understand, plan, and execute technical activities
Plan, manage, and execute flight test programs showing compliance to and support of 14 CFR 23, and MIL-HDBK-516B requirements
Articulate formal design reviews and present design data to external customers
Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering proposals
Ability to travel up to 25%
Ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance required

Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years work experience in aerospace engineering, experience in using SolidWorks, skilled in 3D computational fluid dynamics tools.
Desirable - experience with Tier II, III and IV unmanned aircraft systems, strong computer programming skills with MatLab and LabView, proficient with Microsoft Office products including Project.
DoD Top Secret Clearance

Education Required:
BS Aerospace/Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering - MS preferred
