Military-Civilian
is absolutely hands down my favorite job board site. It’s a caring
company who really goes the extra mile for each client, finding them the
best fitting job. They have a huge data base where employers and job
seekers alike can easily access both resumes and job postings. Their
site is always up to date and full of the most recent Job Fair
information which is always so easily accessible and sent to you if you
request it right away. Lucy, the CEO is always so helpful and
resourceful with any questions I may have. She has endless links that
provide me with a one stop shop full of information. I can call or email
her any day of the week and she gets back to me so promptly. You can
tell she really cares a lot about her business and clients.
Hot Yoga Teacher
Hot Yoga Teacher
This is my journey from a Gulf War Vet to a Hot Yoga Teacher by MaryJo Santander
I am a trained barber stylist, a mother, a wife, a yoga teacher, and a gulf war vet. After exiting the U.S. Air force in 1995, I did my best to integrate into civilian life. I went to a trade school on the G.I. Bill and became a trained Barber stylist. I continued working in my trade for 20 years. During those years I suffered from anxiety and other related issues. I wanted to be proactive so, I decided to attend a Mindfulness parenting class at the Sepulveda Veterans Hospital in Ca. This proved to be life changing. In the class they taught me how to use yoga and mindfulness techniques as a way to break free from the anxiety. At the same time a friend invited me to go to a hot yoga class in Woodland Hills, Ca at a studio called Malibu Sun Yoga. After practicing yoga there for 2 years I became a yoga teacher. I cannot speak for others but for myself this has become a way of life. I want to encourage vets, male and female to come try our studio and if it’s something that clicks with you as a person consider a career as a yoga teacher. The studio is starting a 200 hour training on May 15th, please see flier attached for details. Fitness has always been a part of my life. Now, I get to give back and in my small way hope to help vets and others along the way.
