Upcoming events to help our homeless Veterans//////Coupon Communities ////6th Annual Veterans

kelley.hamilton@nccommerce.com

6th Annual Veterans
Sock Drive
Be a “Sock Angel” this year by donating new socks for our homeless and indigent Veterans. Socks are great, however much needed field items such as parka, tarps, sleeping bags, etc., are needed also. These items can become the most cherished possessions to someone on the streets, sleeping under harsh weather elements.
The “Sock Angel” drive starts on November 19, 2015. We are asking our community to support the Sock Drive by providing our Veterans with new socks, preferable wool and/or any field related items. Make this a citizen, church, club, or company project! We can pick up items or they can be dropped off at the address below. Questions? Please contact:

Veteran Employment initiative

Fact Sheet: Presidential Memorandum Supporting Veterans’ Employment and Reemployment Across the Federal Workforce

President Obama has made helping veterans find civilian employment and reintegrate into our nation’s workforce and economy a top priority.  In November 2011, the President signed into law the Returning Heroes Tax Credit, which provides businesses that hire unemployed veterans with a credit of up to $5,600 per veteran, and the Wounded Warriors Tax Credit, which offers businesses that hire veterans with service-connected disabilities a credit of up to $9,600 per veteran. The First Lady and Dr. Biden’s Joining Forces Initiative has helped 90,000 veterans and military spouses find jobs. And we have developed online tools to help connect veterans to employers

The federal government has led efforts to recruit and retain individuals who have served our country in the armed forces. In Executive Order 13518, the President established the Veterans Employment Initiative to bolster recruitment and retention of veterans in the federal workforce.  This initiative has been extraordinarily successful, ushering in 200,000 new veteran hires and at least 25,000 new Reservists to the federal workforce.  Veterans comprise more than one-fourth (27.3% in FY2011) of the federal workforce, the highest share in 15 years.  Our service members, their families, and our country all benefit from veterans’ talents, experience, and dedication.

Why Drive for C R England Ex Military Jobs

Why Drive for C R England Ex Military Jobs

In the 1961 novel Catch-22, a group of American airmen stationed in the Mediterranean find themselves in the strange position of having to maintain their sanity in order to fulfill their tours and be discharged. The satirical novel is a brilliant piece that illustrates the often-maddening reality of having a problem whose only solution is negated by the problem itself. Thus, the phrase ‘Catch-22’ has been adopted as an idiom to describe a problem that has no solution. For the modern trucking service, the problem of driver experience qualifies as a Catch-22.

Trucking companies looking to bring on new drivers are often looking for individuals with a sufficient amount of over-the-road (OTR) experience. They do this for a couple of reasons. First, experienced drivers already know the ropes. They can meet the requirements of the job without issue. Second, insurance companies do not look as favorably on new drivers as they do veterans. It can cost companies more money to hire new drivers.

Here’s the problem that creates the Catch-22: new drivers need OTR experience in order to be hired, yet they cannot get that experience without working. This problem leaves trucking service companies without enough drivers and new drivers without the work they need to gain experience. Nevertheless, there is a solution.

Choosing Your Employer

The driver experience problem may be the norm for the trucking industry, but not every company experiences it. C.R. England is but one example. We have implemented a program that not only encourages new drivers to sign on with us, but also recruits students and helps them earn their licenses. Simply by choosing us as their employer, our new drivers get the training and experience they need in one place.

Say a new, unlicensed driver applies for work with C.R. England. As long as that individual meets all of our hiring requirements and appears a good fit for the job, we will send him or her to school through our CDL partner, Premier Truck Driving Schools. Completion of CDL training makes the driver eligible to begin working for C.R. England right away. We team him/her up with a trainer for a predetermined amount of time in order to allow him/her to gain the necessary experience and learn the ropes.

As you can see from our example, a new driver can get around the experience problem by choosing the right employer. That driver must commit to his/her employer for a specific amount of time in order to be eligible, but it is still a great way to get the OTR experience a driver needs. He or she can then choose to stay with that employer or move on after fulfilling their commitment.

Why We Do It

Not every trucking company does what C.R. England does to recruit and hire drivers. So why do we do it? We invest in new drivers because we know that they are the future of the trucking industry. With the majority of drivers now over the age of 25, the industry is staring at a driver shortage that will only get more serious as each successive wave of drivers retires in the coming years. We need new blood in the industry if we are to survive. C.R. England has every intention of not only surviving, but thriving as well.

C.R. England has open positions for inexperienced drivers, experienced company drivers, team drivers, and trainers. We would love the opportunity to speak with you about your professional driving goals. If you are eligible, we are prepared to send you to school and help you gain the experience you need.

Hiring truck drivers

Hiring truck drivers

Excellence. Pride. Professionalism. These are foundational building blocks of TMC Transportation’s culture and part of what makes military veterans a great fit for our organization. We care for and maintain our trucks as the valued assets they are…and we want the most professional drivers operating them. We pay to have our trucks washed every week, put our drivers’ names on the door of their truck, and honor each military veteran by placing a patriotic decal with their branch of service on the side of the truck. Drivers here are proud that people all over the country know us by the cleanliness and sharpness of our fleet, even if they have never interacted with a truck driver. Hiring truck drivers.

We are currently hiring truck drivers to join our team. These drivers will be delivering freight that is used to build the infrastructure of our country such as steel, lumber, wallboard, pipe and other building materials that must be hauled on an open-deck trailer (flatbed). These trucks and trailers are commonly referred to as 18 wheelers for the eighteen tires on the two equipment components. TMC drivers are away from home during the week and home on the weekends.

A TMC driver is a member of a team that believes in being the best at everything it does. The performance of one reflects on the quality of the whole. Our performance-based percentage pay package reflects these values and was designed by TMC drivers. This innovative pay program is set up to reward self-motivated, hard-working individuals who are continually striving to improve. Average earnings for a first year TMC truck driver right out of truck school is $54,000/year, with our top performers making $70,000 and up!

Drivers for TMC must first obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A). We do not require any previous truck driving experience and we can help you find the training you need to obtain your CDL-A. Our training is VA Approved, allowing veterans who are eligible for education benefits to draw on these benefits for up to 2 years while in the Apprenticeship phase.  This can be up to $1,407.00/month from the VA in addition to your TMC paycheck!

We are proud of our veteran employees who comprise over 35% of our driver fleet and support team.  Join us today. Apply online or call 855-678-5451 FREE for details!

Why Start Your Truck Driving Career with TMC?

    • Industry leading flatbed training. We’ve been training drivers with no experience since 1993 and know how to do it right. We have had TMC drivers honored as a Top Ten Finalists in Trucking’s Top Rookie contest every year that it’s been held.

    • Adventurous, interesting work. Just in 2015 alone we’ve had drivers deliver to the White House Easter Egg Roll, the new Minnesota Vikings football stadium, and Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. See the country while being paid!

    • Employee Owned Company! Research studies consistently show that employee-owned companies perform better than companies that are not employee-owned. All eligible TMC employees own shares in the company at no cost to them through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). ESOP adds financial motivation and ownership responsibility while also providing a more rewarding retirement plan for our employees.
  • Military Friendly Employer! We have been designated a 2016 Military Friendly Employer® by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs. We support soldiers who are in the Guard and Reserves by getting you home for drill weekends and annual training obligations. We also welcome you back from deployments that interrupt your employment with TMC. We also thank each veteran driver in our fleet for their military service by placing a patriotic decal with their branch of service on the side of their truck.

Currently hiring truck drivers

Currently hiring truck drivers

Excellence. Currently hiring truck drivers

Apply online or call 855-678-5451 for details!
