Progressive, employee-friendly OHS is seeking a full time, qualified Social Worker to provide mental health services to designated beneficiaries in a clinical setting in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
The Social Worker shall perform in accordance with established principles, practices and ethics of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW). The standards of performance for all employees provided by the Social Worker shall reflect the degree and care, skill and learning expected of a reasonably prudent healthcare provider in the Social Work profession. The Social Worker shall perform a full range of services on site, using furnished facilities, equipment and supplies to a variety of patients. All aspects of services shall be commensurate with the capabilities of the provider and the Medical Department including but not limited to the items listed below.

Job Duties:
Conduct biopsychosocial assessments utilizing clinical interview techniques, mental status examination, collection of history from collaborative sources, psychometric screening tools and psychological testing, laboratory and imaging studies, collaboration with other clinic staff and referrals, as needed for the purpose of determining an accurate Mental Health diagnosis and plan of treatment
Develop, review and implement Treatment Plans for care of behavioral health conditions, providing appropriate follow-up care, discharge plans, and transfers to other health care facilities (psychiatric units, residential care, nursing homes, rehabilitation hospitals, and other facilities) as indicated
Treat outpatients in individual, group, couples, and family modalities as appropriate, exercising professional judgment and using a range of clinical skills to include psychotherapy, education and recommendations for lifestyle/behavioral change
Make a health record entry for every patient
To the greatest extent possible, ensure the fitness of patients and attempt to learn of any circumstances which might adversely affect a patient’s ability
Within HIPAA confidentiality guidelines, maintain open and professional communications with other Clinic Healthcare staff and provide consultation services regarding mental health issues including diagnosis, condition, treatment plans, prognosis and fitness status
Provide appropriate and timely evaluation and management for problems as they occur in addition to providing regularly scheduled appointments.
Make appropriate referrals to specialists utilizing appropriate resources as directed by the clinic administrator.
Provide recommendations in writing regarding status and duration, for all patients under mental health care
Share responsibility for developing and implementing educational programs, training and referral resources which might improve the level of behavioral health and awareness within a defined community or area of responsibility
Monitor rates of mental health related behavior and resource utilization, such as psychiatric admissions, suicide behavior, family violence cases, substance abuse treatment and DUI's
Maintain an ongoing relationship with the patient for counseling and case management of patients with psychiatric disorders and arrange for referral is more specialized mental health services are indicated
Liaison and report to higher facility as required for patient's continuum of care
Work collaboratively with healthcare team in Primary Care
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Social work from a school accredited by The Council of Social Work Education (CSWE)
Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience (within the 5 years immediately preceding)
Current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice Social Work services in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
Current Certification in the field of Social Work
Current BLS by the AHA, ARC, ASHI or ACEP Certification
No loss, reduction, restriction, or revocation of clinical privileges at any institution
No pending litigation for medical malpractice
No current or pending felony criminal charges

Ability to participate in research and performance improvement studies
Knowledge of, and ability to, apply the basic principles of enteral and parenteral nutrition support

DUTIES:
Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) provide security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner. This includes:
•Operating screening equipment to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft;
•Performing searches, to include hand-wand and pat-down searches;
•Controlling terminal entry and exit points;
•Interacting with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries;
•Maintaining focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment which includes noise from alarms, machinery and people, crowd distractions, time pressure, and disruptive and angry passengers, in order to preserve the professional ability to identify and locate potentially life threatening or mass destruction devices, and to make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Applicants must meet these qualifications in order to be further evaluated in the TSO hiring process:
•Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National at time of application submission;
•Be at least 18 years of age at time of application submission;
•Be proficient in the English language (i.e., able to read, write, speak, and listen);
•Have a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential OR at least one year of full-time work experience in the security industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.

JOB SUMMARY:

Salary Information:  The salary range listed includes locality pay of 14.16%, and reflects the salary range for a full-time position.  However, salaries for part-time positions will be pro-rated based upon the actual number of hours worked.  Starting a career with TSA as a TSO may lead to promotion possibilities within DHS.
