KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
•You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI).
•You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
•Supervisory Probation Period may be required.
•You must pass Drug and Alcohol Screening, subject to random drug tests.          
  
DUTIES:
This position is located in the Office of Security Operations (OSO), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If you are selected for this position, you will serve as the Deputy Director in the Operations Performance Division and will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in operations metrics standard operating procedures compliance, checkpoint and checked baggage efficiency while ensuring overall management and program efficiencies for OSO operations are met, as well as attaining the level and quality of support necessary to meet mission requirements and working relationships among OSO Division Directors and other TSA operating offices. You will provide the support necessary to meet mission requirements and expectations within established timelines. You will facilitate communications among the OSO Divisions and facilitate working relationships between the OSO Division Directors and other TSA operating offices.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
•Managing performance and driving improvement across programs by leveraging assets and established professional relationships.
•Exercising supervision through subordinate managers of the Division.
•Serving as principle senior advisor to the Director and at his/her direction representing the interests and committing resources for projects and programs, including building meaningful relationships with the commercial airline and air cargo industries.   
•Managing special projects and task forces that support organizational goals through special assignments and programs relating to their programs, and other projects.
•Providing OSO with the tools and support required to effectively allocate and utilize its security workforce.
•Providing management oversight and direction concerning personnel, policies and programs for assigned program areas.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
For the SV-L Pay Band, you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-K Pay Band or GS-15 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in state or local government or the private sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such specialized experience includes managing transportation security operational activities which requires in-depth knowledge of TSA security policies, procedures, programs, and strategies; identifying and resolving complex transportation security problems and issues; and coordinating TSA operational activities with Federal, foreign government, and industry stakeholders.
