This year we have committed to placing 9,000 Wreaths between the two
Cemeteries. We are committed to placing 7,400 Wreaths at Quantico National
Cemetery, where Sergeant Eric McColley is interred.  We have also again
committed to placing   wreaths on every headstone in the  Gettysburg
National Cemetery (also known as Soldiers National Cemetery). This will
enable us to place a wreath on EVERY headstone in the original section of
the Cemetery at Gettysburg. We would  To accomplish this project, we need to
raise just approximately $ 64,000.00.

We would sincerely appreciate any assistance that you could provide in
funding this endeavor. The wreaths and bows cost $ 8.00 each and are
provided at cost by GIANT FOOD of Carlisle, PA. Transportation of the
wreaths from Gettysburg to Quantico, VA is provided generously by ABF
FREIGHT SYSTEMS. Everything else is provided by volunteers. 100% of every
dollar donated will go to the purchase of wreaths.

You are invited to visit the Sgt. Mac Foundation web site at WWW.SGTMAC.ORG

deceased and fallen Veterans.

You are also invited to join us in person for this program. This year we
will meet at the Giant Food Store on Route 30 in Gettysburg, PA at 0800 on

Montgomery County Fallen Heroes Dedication

Montgomery County will be dedicating its Fallen Heroes Memorial and the Justice Plaza between the County's Executive Office Building and the Judicial Center along Route 28 on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at 1:00 pm. The Fallen Heroes Memorial is an eternal flame dedicated to the memory of those who have sacrificed their lives on the field of battle. We are naming the plaza the Justice Plaza symbolizing the Circuit Courthouse that it is adjacent to and the justice for which the Fallen Heroes died. CDR Everett Alvarez, USN (Ret.), former POW during the Vietnam War, and Montgomery County resident, will be raising the POW/MIA flag as a part of the ceremony. The County Executive and Council President will also be issuing a proclamation declaring 2015 the Year of the Veteran and the Veterans Families in Montgomery County.  The content and tone of the ceremony will be a "one time only" event; once the flame is lit and the POW/MIA flag raised, they will be neither extinguished nor taken down. Their placement along Route 28 will ensure that they are constant reminders to the public that our liberty and justice were paid for at a great price. The public is welcome to attend. Sign language interpreter services and other accommodations will be available upon request at least 3 business days in advance by contacting: Betsy.Luecking@montgomerycountymd.gov  or at 301-777-1246 or via MD Relay at 711
