Salary: $10.50 per hr (w/shift differential pay per shift) (5% increase after successful completion of 6 month probationary period)

Duties:
The person in this position will oversee the day-to-day security and welfare activities of veterans to include female veterans assigned to the Residential Center, a housing facility for homeless veterans. The Security Officer will coordinate closely with staff of the facility, as well as residents and will be responsible for ensuring good order and a safe environment for everyone in the facility. This position will help coordinate as residents enter and leave the facility and will interact with residents on a daily basis. Establishing and maintaining a positive regard and a good working relationship with all residents and staff is a must.
Requirements:
The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, with at least two (2) years of related experience and must be able to speak and write English. The person in this position must be computer literate and be able to use MICROSOFT WORD. The candidate MUST be able to lift, move, carry and/or push up to 50 pounds; have a valid Texas driver’s license, Obtain current Certification as Commissioned Security Officer by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety, Automobile liability insurance and have own personal vehicle which will be used in the course of business. HE/SHE MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ALL SHIFTS AS REQUIRED. The candidate must be able to pass a background check, drug test and driving record check.
