Basic Qualifications for Senior Linux Systems Administrator:
Washington, DC (Hoover Bldg)–935 Pennsylvania Ave., NW J. Edgar Hoover Building Washington, DC
5+ years of experience with Linux system administration
Knowledge of Big Data environments, such as Hadoop and Accumulo and provisioning software
Knowledge of VMWare hypervisor environment and provisioning software
Knowledge of government-wide system design
Knowledge of methodology and federal information system policies, including NIST 800.53, FISMA, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and configuration management
Active Top Secret clearance
BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications for Senior Linux Systems Administrator:
Experience with the implementation of information technology equipment and services preferred
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Key Role for Senior Linux Systems Administrator:
Administer Linux and UNIX operating systems and provisioning applications for a large federal client, and Big Data environments, such as Hadoop and Accumulo and provisioning software. Administer VMWare hypervisor environment and provisioning software. Administer storage platforms which provision the environment. Evaluate system problems of workflow, organization, and planning and develop appropriate corrective action. Perform quality control of processes and products produced. Assist with the formulation of technical strategies and processes for administered systems. Write, interpret, and analyze technical documentation related to system administration and provide consulting support, if requested, to internal and external working groups and committees as substantive authority in subject area.
