DUTIES:
This position is located in the Security Services and Assessments Division (SSA), Office of Law Enforcement/ Federal Air Marshal Service (OLE/FAMS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected, you will be responsible for planning and carrying out a wide range of complex assignments involving several broad security program areas including information security, personnel security, physical security, and will access controls into sensitive and controlled areas. Your work will involve reviewing, evaluating, and resolving a variety of security problems, questions, or situations including monitoring security systems and programs or performing independent reviews and recommending actions involving complex security programs, Communication Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures. You will contribute to the overall effectiveness of physical, personnel, and information security programs for SSA and OLE/FAMS. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Providing information on products, services, resources or opportunities, as applicable. Explaining, defending or justifying decisions, recommendations and findings. Discussing results, problems, plans, suggestions, terms or conditions with others. Persuading others to take a particular course of action or accept findings and recommendations. Acting effectively as a liaison between work unit and customers. Preparing reports, briefs and studies. Explaining technical or other complex information.
Applying security policies, directives and regulations that relate to TSA operations and programs when making decisions. Ensuring that activities, services or products reflect organizational goals and objectives. Adjusting priorities to respond to pressing and changing needs. Adapting work methods in response to new information and changing conditions.
Identifying the existence of problems that impede accomplishing tasks. Researching the cause of problems and offering a variety of solutions to resolve problems. Exploring new ways to accomplish tasks. Implementing solutions to problems to ensure completion of affected tasks.
Providing day-to-day support across all security disciplines, to a workforce comprised of staff employees, contractors and detailees, many of whom have no prior association with the IC and/or a classified program; implementing TSA SSO Security Training and Awareness.
Developing and implementing policies and procedures governing the protection of SCI facilities, operation Information and material. Developing and implementing all security aspects of Continuity of Operations (COOP), and providing oversight of physical facility protection requirements.
Performing complex analysis of COMSEC policy and governance, reporting conflicts in guidance and making recommendations to address them.
