Monday, May 5,
is Cinco de Mayo, right? Absolutely! So go ahead and toast our
neighbors to the south with a salty margarita, but keep in mind that Tuesday, May 6, is really the most important day that week.
It’s the Big Day of Giving,
a 24-hour period that gives you a chance to donate where your heart is,
to the Sacramento-area non-profit organizations that mean the most to
you.
In our case, we hope your donation will go toward The Soldiers Project/Sacramento,
to support the work we do -- providing free, confidential mental health
services to active-duty military and veterans of the conflicts in Iraq
and Afghanistan and their loved ones.
It will only take five minutes of your time to log onto www.tspsacramento.org and make your donation. By giving between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on May 6, you (and The Soldiers Project/Sacramento)
will get little more bang for the buck because every donation will be
matched on a prorated basis, making each gift go farther.
Your
donation can be as little as $25 or as large as …… $$$$$$ …… well, you
get the idea. We welcome all donations, big and small, and promise that
every dollar you give stays here in the Sacramento area to help our
veteran clients.
The
Big DoG’s fundraising goal of $1 million spread among 400 local
non-profits is a lofty one, but completely attainable, with your help.
So please mark your calendars for Tuesday, May 6, and again we ask that you forward this message to everyone on your personal email list. Most of the advertising for the Big Day of Giving is being done through the Internet, social media sites and email, so your help is an integral part of getting the word out!
Sincerely,
