Artist Competition

The United States Mint is pleased to share official information about the 2018 World War I American Veterans Centennial Commemorative Coin Design Competition. We invite you to visit a dedicated landing page – www.usmint.gov/competition – where you can access the rules, schedule and details on how to enter. The Mint began accepting submissions for the first phase of the competition on February 29, 2016, and will continue to do so through April 28, 2016, though the Mint reserves the right to end the acceptance of submissions early if 1,000 entries are received.

As an organization that values the diversity of its people and products, we hope you will help spread the word about this opportunity to design a commemorative coin that will pay tribute to the bravery, actions and sacrifices of Americans during the country’s involvement in World War I almost 100 years ago. The winner will not only have his or her initials on the final coin, but will also receive a $10,000 prize.

We hope that you will encourage your members, students or patrons to apply – or perhaps apply yourself. Be sure to visit this site, and follow the United States Mint on Twitter or Facebook for reminders and updates. If you’d like to be added to our email distribution, please send an email request to WorldWarOne@usmint.treas.gov.

We hope that many individuals will participate. If you have any questions or thoughts about how to support the competition, please feel free to send an email to WordlWarOne@usmint.treas.gov.
