KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
•You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
•You may be required to complete a one year Supervisory Probation Period.
•You must pass Drug and Alcohol Screening, subject to random drug tests. 
DUTIES:
This Supervisory Security Specialist position is located in the Personnel Security Section within the Security Branch of the Security Services and Assessments Division, Office of Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service (OLE/FAMS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected, you will serve as an authority on the adjudication of personnel security cases and provide oversight for suitability and security adjudications for all TSA employees including contractors.  Duties include but are not limited to:
•Providing second level review for all adverse actions/determinations.
•Ensuring all staff within their respective unit receives the proper training and stay knowledgeable on changes in standards, policy and procedure.
•Maintaining liaisons with Office of Inspection (OOI), Office of Chief Counsel (OCC), and Office of Human Capital (OHC) Employee Relations on the processing of removals and other actions to ensure legal sufficiency.
•Preparing clear and concise policies, regulations, supplements, messages, briefings and oral presentations for all levels of the Division and for senior leadership and officials from within or outside TSA.
Supervisory/managerial duties will include planning both routine and complex work to be accomplished, assigning work, setting priorities and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; coaching and developing employees; approving leave; taking, recommending or approving disciplinary actions; managing human resources, and applicable administrative policies and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I Pay Band or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience includes:
•Applying Personnel Security policies, applicable legislation, statues, executive orders and other regulatory directives for suitability and security determinations;
•Applying suitability and security clearance due process;
•Preparing documentation to ensure agency compliance;
•Serving as a lead or providing expert consultation regarding personnel security issues.
