KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
•You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI).
•You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
•You must pass Drug and Alcohol Screening, subject to random drug tests.

DUTIES:
This Screening Procedures Specialist position is located in the Office of Security  Operations (OSO), Mission Performance Division, in the Security Procedures Branch, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  If selected for this position, you will serve as the subject matter expert to develop new or edit, revise, and update existing TSA screening processes, standard operating procedures, proof of concepts for RBS-related field assessments, management and operational directives, and standard security program policies for ongoing sustainability that supports the TSA mission and our field personnel.  Typical assignments include:
•Communicating/interacting with TSA management, stakeholders (internal and external), field personnel, industry, and other external parties, and serving as a point of contact for assigned activities.
•Conducting research, analyses, evaluations, and studies of existing security policies and requirements, procedures, standards, and programs to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
•Developing, coordinating, and issuing new and revised national policies, directives, standards, and standard operating procedures governing the security of all modes of transportation to promote the prevention of criminal acts against transportation modes, including air piracy and other acts of sabotage.
•Coordinating new, modified, or amended policies, standard operating procedures, directives, and standards with TSA headquarters stakeholders and external organizations using appropriate and established procedures to monitor and evaluate implementation.
•Preparing management/technical reports or contractual documents.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I Pay Band or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.  Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.  Such experience includes:
•applying Federal laws, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures governing and defining transportation security;
•developing security policies, procedures and directives for the screening of people and property; and
•demonstrated skill in writing and editing a wide range of documents that relate to organizational operations and programs.
