KEY REQUIREMENTS

 DUTIES
This Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) Test Area Specialist position is located in the Office of Security Capabilities (OSC) in the Operations Support Division, TSA System Integration Facility (TSIF)/Test and Evaluation Branch, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Test and Evaluation Branch is responsible for overseeing and managing the intra-structure for the Passenger, Checked Baggage, Trace and Cargo Laboratories.
Typical duties include:
•Analyzing and evaluating screening equipment to assess overall system capabilities, limitations, and impact on operations.
•Developing plans and procedures that evaluate Test Area operations and recommending changes or improvements in equipment.
•Identifying staff, equipment, or facilities required to support screening systems operations, as well as overseeing preventative maintenance plans to ensure compliance with TSA policies.
•Overseeing security system and equipment reconfigurations and integration activities for both the CBIS and CASS areas, including ensuring power and networking requirements are provided.
•Monitoring the CBIS and CASS areas for proper operation and ensuring configurations meet required standards.
•Overseeing security equipment related activities such as equipment delivery, set up and calibrations/integrations, equipment movement and recalibration within the TSIF, acceptance testing, and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is operating properly prior to test and evaluation.
•Serving as a tour/escort lead to the Test Manager when hosting scheduled tours or visits by agency personnel, guests, and VIPs.
•Establishing test and evaluation reporting techniques to assist the Test Manager in collecting and reporting critical system data.
•Inputting BHS system performance and maintaining equipment databases for maintenance related issues for large conveyance systems.
•Performing fact finding analysis of program data, assisting in operating and maintaining databases, tools, and dashboards.
