REGIONAL COORDINATOR, AW2 (12534BR) POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE:
Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization. Knowledgeable of program training initiatives in accordance with DOD programs and regulations.
• Coordinates and supervises the overall management of the AW2 advocates, per assigned geographical region, and AW2 program technical functions. Responsible for contract standards and deliverables, productivity, expense levels, training, and resource materials. Assists, under minimal supervision of the Program Manager, in the review, development, analysis, and implementation of the Army Wounded Warrior Policies and Directives. Ensures AW2 advocates and program functions are in compliance with company policies and applicable DOD policies and regulations.
• Provide counseling and assistance to service members who are undergoing physical evaluation for retention, retirement or separation and/or their family members.
• Monitors assigned AW2 Advocates, ensuring that the service member (or family member) understands the significance of all findings and recommendations made by the Medical board and the Physical Evaluation Board regarding his/her case and to provide continuous up to date feedback.
Inform member that the retirement grade will be based on provisions of law. Refer member to Social Security and State Employment representatives.
• Ensures assigned AW2 Advocates have been furnished appropriate resources to provide the information and assistance needed in completing appropriate applications, especially as they apply to disability compensation, medical/dental treatment, vocational rehabilitation, clothing allowance and aid for the blind. Interpret appropriate guidelines to determine eligibility for such benefits/entitlements as education for windows or wives and children of certain deceased and/or disabled veterans. Informs the member to contact the Veterans and Social Security Administrations for more in-depth advisory services.
• Monitors and receives updates from assigned AW2 Advocates of documentation for medical boards are processed under appropriate regulations.
• Assists in coordinating Regional and Nationwide programs for Work with other services on Temporary Disability retired members for Medical Boards, periodic physical examinations and final results, giving assistance in preparing rebuttals, and obtaining adequate examinations. These functions are in support of assigned region AW2 advocates.
• Consult with members on the Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL) at each periodic re-evaluation. • Provide guidance if needed to the regional AW2 Advocates for Wounded Warriors concerning results of the informal PEB, compute and verify the level of recommended benefits, determine the need for and assist in obtaining additional information which may change benefit levels upon reconsideration, and advise member concerning the advisability of requesting a formal PEB.

MIN EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree or higher with 5 years of work experience.
One or more years of recent working with AW2, PERSCOM or MEDCOM programs.
Former military experience or Wounded Warrior desired.
Consideration will be given to relevant professional experience commensurate with assignment.
