M-C - Physical/Facilities Security Representative













We are seeking a Physical/Facilities Security Representative to support Joint Task Force-GTMO in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Location: Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
Clearance: TS/SCI
Salary: Commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct physical security operations for all collateral and SCI cleared facilities. Physical Security operation task consists of the following:
Perform physical security assessments (PSA) for all buildings and workspaces under JTF-GTMO control to ensure compliance with command and DoD physical security policies and procedures.
Produce PSA in memorandum format referencing applicable policies and regulations when requested.
Ensure that JTF-GTMO complies with DISA and SOUTHCOM IG regulations. Coordinate with JTF-GTMO J6 in preparation for the DISA inspection.
Conduct semi-annual security inspections of all JTF-GTMO facilities to educate incoming personnel and enforce proper security standards and practices.
Evaluate and recommend solutions to complex security related issues regarding OPSEC and C4I practices.
Manage database for all JTF-GTMO security containers, facilities, and offices and all SF 700s.
Responsible for the inventory of X-09, CDX-09 electronic locks, Simplex 900, Simplex 1000 series locks to maintain current and future physical security posture.
Provide support to repair/remove and replace all JTF-GTMO locks during duty and non-duty hours.
Provide draft policy to JTF-GTMO CSM based on commander’s directives.
Conduct periodic training presentations to security representatives to provide the most current knowledge of security policies and procedures.
Interact frequently with senior representatives from various DoD commands and national level intelligence agencies on complex security issues.
Review statements of work/blueprints of proposed construction/renovation projects to ensure finished structures will provide adequate protection of JTF classified information and assets, ensuring that infrastructures meet current security requirements.
Conduct periodic inspections of facilities at different phases of construction to ensure construction methods comply with command, DoD, and DIA directives.
Provide oversight to all aspects of physical security including Automated Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), badging and Entry/Exit Inspection Program (EEIP).

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of governing laws, regulations precedents, and directives governing DoD security program.
Knowledge of DoD physical security program concepts and principles.
AA Degree and experience managing and participating as a technical expert for resolving problems in existing security systems and programs requiring innovative solutions including all aspects of physical security, camera systems, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), badging, and entry/exit inspection is required.
Experience advising top-level agency security and subject matter managers on new developments and advances; recommending methods for enhancing efficiency of security systems through modifications and applications of evolving technology; evaluating and making recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for major agency and/or organizational security projects.
Ability to install and repair X09 and Simplex locks.
Experience with IDS and CCTV is a bonus.
Experience with MS Office applications and a basic familiarization with current computer hardware and software technology.
TS/SCI clearance required.
Medical services and treatment at USNB GTMO is limited. Pre-deployment physical / screening for pre-existing medical conditions is required by USNB Hospital GTMO. Vaccinations and immunizations are required to be current and documented on pre-deployment screening.
Must have the ability to live to live in communal environments and work in austere and/or harsh environments.
Valid US Passport.

What are people's experiences of employment progression in the security field? I might gradually want to turn out working in the law enforcement force and I'm
wondering whether I should simply get directly into that or
test the waters with something less intense. Has anybody started off in basic security and ended
up working with the police?
