Since August 10, 2020 at approximately 8:55 a.m. (PST) over a dozen earthquakes have taken place in Bombay Beach (Salton Sea) that range in magnitude from 3.0 to 4.0. Although there are no reported damages from these earthquakes, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) has released an Earthquake forecast for the Salton Sea from August 10 to August 18 that details probability of three earthquake scenarios. Please take some time to review this information as this seismic activity directly affects the San Andreas Fault and larger earthquakes could trigger other earthquakes along this fault.
