KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
•You must complete a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
•You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
•You may be required to complete a one year Supervisory Probation Period.

DUTIES:
This Supervisory Security Assistant position is located in the Identity Verification Call Center (IVCC), Vetting Operations Division, Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  If selected for this position, you will be responsible for managing and utilizing government and commercial databases to verify identities of traveling passengers and gate pass holders without acceptable identification.  Typical assignments will include:
•Reviewing and addressing security issues escalated by subordinates from airport authorities and other TSA operations requesting verification of passenger identity and watch list checks.
•Tracking and following-up on unverified cases to ensure timely completion and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•Applying the SOPs when dealing with stakeholders to secure the sterile area of the airport.
•Performing watch list checks, and using judgment in time sensitive situations to either verify the passengers or escalate them to the appropriate authority.
•Creating and overseeing daily reports for accuracy and clarity, and responding to TSA and DHS inquiries.
•Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with airport management and other TSA officials to support special initiatives, improve business processes, streamline procedures, and consult on identity verification decisions.
Supervisory duties include: leading a team of security assistants, assigning work, setting schedules, setting team goals, selecting team leads, assigning team members and directing the administrative and technical work of subordinates.  Guiding the work and development of the team through job coaching/mentoring, enforcing disciplinary actions, managing staff schedules and authorizing leave/absences, and measuring staff performance.  Defining training needs, training subordinates on SOPs, and providing input to develop and revise SOPs.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for the SV-G Pay Band (equivalent to GS-11), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-F Pay Band or GS-9 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.  Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.  Examples of such experience include applying security procedures, processes, policies, and regulations to verify passenger identity and perform watch list checks; conducting research, creating reports, and responding to inquiries.
NOTE:  Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek.  Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience.  No additional credit is given for overtime.
